Irena Mihova
Founder and CEO of I’m Creative, Irena is focused on creating recognizable brands in independent motion picture and television through investment in talent and unique creative projects. For more than 15 years she has produced and executed documentaries, narrated stories, TV shows and other fiction, nonfiction, and animation projects for numerous broadcasters, major production houses, and distributors around the world such as BBC, CNBC, FR5, ARD, Global Networks, MTV Networks, and Live Planet.
Among Irena’s recent productions are Running the Sahara, with Executive producer Matt Damon and directed by the Emmy and Oscar winner James Moll; Bling: A Planet Rock, for VH1, starring Kanye West; Feathers to the Sky, in the social selection of the AFI, Santa Barbara and Tribeca Film Festivals; the CNBC show The Business of Development, winner of the Excellence Videographer Award; and Digital Divide, nominated for the Deborah Fletcher Award
Born in Bulgaria, Irena holds a Master of Arts in Political Science, with postgraduate studies in International Law at The Institute of International Studies in Switzerland and a research fellowship in International Relations at The Reykjavik University of Iceland. Irena was Chief News Editor at Channel COMM Networks, Bulgaria, extensively covering the war in Bosnia, the Moscow Putsch, and the collapse of the financial pyramid schemes in the Balkans. At the United Nations, Irena has held Political, Judicial and External Affairs positions around the world. She also launched the groundbreaking TV & Film Partnerships Initiative at the United Nations Development Programme.
