Coleen Brooks, Board Member
J. Coleen Brooks is a veteran educator and worked with students of all ages and many native languages. As a youth, she lived around the world, and grew to respect people of all cultures.
Brooks graduated from Carson-Newman College with a BA in English and went into education shortly thereafter. Additionally, she became involved in fine arts.
She often writes for regional publications in her beloved Calhoun, Georgia (near Atlanta). Her favorite writing subject is people. Brooks sees wonder in what some may see as ordinary life, and her writings reflect a deep respect for people. Her trip to Ireland has been particularly good fodder for her writing.
“That’s what drew me to RainmakersTV,” said Brooks. “People are the same around the world. Parents want better lives for their kids. Communities want to be healthy. Peace and happiness are goals for us all.”
Brooks has spread her talents to the performing arts. She regularly appears and/or directs theater at the Harris Center.
